We asked VIPs, families and helpers about what they thought about HCPT Group 206:
"[My daughter] had a great time didn't want to come home, she wants to go back!"
"Dear 206
I love 206, they are the best. I went to Lourdes twice with them and I couldn't ask for a better week both times. It is a fun week and I hope in the future VIPs will have as much fun as I did. If you want to let a VIP have a great week like me then donate money to 206, even if it was £5 you might not think that's a lot but it is you could buy a child a hot chocolate and a plate of chips - you see how good that is! So thank you 206, you are the best and always will be.
A VIP from 2012 & 2013"
“My daughter went to Lourdes with Group 206 in April 2014 for the first time. She didn’t know any of the other children and was understandably, quite apprehensive about going. We met the whole group for the first time a couple of weeks before they left and immediately any anxiety she had about the trip went! They week came and went and she came home tired after a full week; but also excited with lots of stories to tell having had a thoroughly great time! By the sounds of it some great memories were made and before she’d even stepped over the front door she said she would definitely go again should she ever get the opportunity... that speaks volumes! I didn’t worry about her at all whilst she was away as I knew she was in such good hands. I am so grateful and thankful to HCPT that she had this opportunity.”

Last year (April 2014) was the first year I have been to Lourdes and the first year I was a helper with 206, it was a week that changed my life! It was amazing! The experience is indescribable and it's the VIP's that made my experience! It was a happy, crazy fun filled week that I didn't want to end! I'm so excited to be going back this Easter! I can't wait!!

I have been going to Lourdes for many years as a VIP, last year (April 2014) would have been my last year going but because I love Lourdes so much and love the work that 206 and HCPT does I am now a helper for BCYS. However, I still travel with 206 as they can’t get rid of me that easy! I hope 206 counties there great work and I am happy to still be part of them! BANNAS ACROSS THE WORLD UNITE!!!

Ohh and I would miss being dressed up like this…

Our son has been lucky enough to be invited more than once by group 206, each time he enjoys it more and always looks forward to the next time! The first time he did not want to go and was reluctant to be away. Having overcome initial anxiety he enjoyed the flight and the hotel - plus the wonderful helpers looking after him were all really good at knowing how much support to give. The experiences and activities helped to build his confidence and enabled him to be more adaptable to change. Our son is a wheelchair user and nothing was a problem for the group or helpers in dealing with our sons disability and they were happy to accommodate his needs. Thank you to Group 206 - you make a big difference to our sons life and help offer some valuable respite for his principle carer - very much appreciated.
Group 206 are great fun! Being part of the Lourdes experience with them is such a pleasure. Their enthusiasm is infectious and their bright orange and fun attitude is amazing to be around. They really love Lourdes and always have a smile for everyone. Amazing :)

Last Easter I travelled to Lourdes as a member of one of the service groups who accompany the HCPT. Group 206 were always having fun with each other and the children always had smiles on their faces. I’ve had the privilege to work with one of the members who has been attending Easter Lourdes for over 10 years and he is a true testament to the great work that Group 206 achieves. They have nurtured and cared for this wonderful person and I believe they are one of the main reasons he is the amazing, kind and loving person he is today. May they long continue the fantastic work that is achieved year after year.

206 are such a welcoming and lovely group to have had the pleasure of spending some of my week in Lourdes with. It was such a great feeling to know that helping them with anything, be it big or small, they are grateful for. It wouldn't be the same not having them there, and having the chance to have fun and games time with them was a great part of my week!

"Going with a service group as I have you might think you'd miss out on the family feeling that other groups seem to share. It's always so nice then to work with 206 and see them throughout the week; there is such a great atmosphere and everyone is really friendly, they are a pleasure to meet in Lourdes."
